Start-up competition: Public Value Award

General information
Participation in the competition is free of charge. The application period ends at June 30, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Participation is only possible up to this point. The organizers reserve the right to change the conditions of participation. The legal process is excluded. The information about you and your company will be kept strictly confidential. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your application for the Public Value Award by email at kontakt[at]PublicValueAward.de or by using the contact form on this page.

Eligibility
All companies that act according to the basic principles of an honorable businessman and are therefore neither illegal nor immoral and that meet the criteria of a start-up are eligible to participate: The company must be in the start-up phase or early growth phase and have an innovative and promising business model.
An entrepreneur can submit applications for several start-ups he (co-)founded.
Excluded from participation are companies that were founded or are managed by one or more members of the Public Value Award team (including the organization team and jury), as well as start-ups that have won the (EY) Public Value Awards for Startups mattered.

Participation process
In order to nominate their own company, the participant must fill out the application form completely and truthfully. This is confirmed by the "Send form" function at the end of the application form.
An independent jury selects the finalists from the applications received in full by the above date. Finalists will be notified no later than six weeks prior to the award ceremony.
The finalists are required to present at the awards ceremonyon the 1st9. October 2023hold a pitch in Leipzig.
This gives you another opportunity to convince the jury and the audience of the public value of your company in the pitch and the subsequent Q&A session. The jury selects the winners of the award based on the five-dimensional Public Value Scorecard. These will be announced on the same day during the event.
Another prize is awarded by a public vote.

Prices
The winners of recent years have benefited above all from the meaningfulness of the award and the network of organizers and partners. You will also receive a custom-made trophy and a certificate. Other prices (such as workshops and consulting services) are displayed on the website.

By agreeing to the conditions of participation and submitting the application form, the participant assures that the information he/she has given about the person(s) and company is correct.

Newsletter Subscription

The e-mail address provided will be used for the purpose of sending the newsletter and will only be stored by the organizer of the Public Value Awards for Start-ups (PVA), Forum Gemeinwohl eV. We use this to inform you regularly about the PVA and related topics or processes.
In addition, you can agree that the Leipzig Graduate School of Management, in particular the Dr. Arend Oetker Chair of Business Psychology and Leadership, may contact you via the email address provided for scientific purposes related to public value or start-up research.

The information you send us via the application form will be treated as strictly confidential. However, we point out that this information is transmitted unencrypted.
For the implementation of the Public Value Award, in particular the application and selection process and the associated communication with you, the information provided about the start-up and the personal data saved. By agreeing, you agree that the information provided for the the jury members as well as our cooperation partners can be viewed.

Online voting (voting for the audience award)
In order to participate in voting, you must register with an email address or an existing Google or Facebook account. This allows us to reduce abuse by bots. We use the information exclusively for the purpose of a smooth execution of the online voting. We also transmit information about this with the Public Value Award for Start-ups (newsletter). The data is stored on the servers of our host Wix (Data protection) stored and not passed on to third parties. They will also be saved beyond the course of this year's awards. This keeps you informed and you will receive an invitation to vote online for the next Public Value Award for Start-ups.
